Boom - 2nd year of my Experience



I started with an important customer where this customer needs more KAM conversation than work. He wanted to talk daily with the KAM who will be handling his account in my company. He can handle highlights of any escalated issue but the KAM should keep on talking every day and if even for one day no conversation and obviously due to work, he would inform the seniors to change the KAM. Yeah! It exactly happened to me as well, as I was not open to having daily conversations with the customer due to being more professional while doing my work. And even the senior manager wouldn't help me to resolve the issue rather he would sit back and check what am I doing to get back the customer as my key account. I used to get scared due to being fresher even if completed 1 year in the company. Every customer used to have different expectations which also include personal.


There was a group in Whatsapp Business where with this customer, was created so that all the escalations would be solved immediately. And the customer used to escalate each and every single issue he came across. I worked hard to resolve as much as I can to resolve so that the seniors would know that I was working hard to resolve any issue that I came across. Even due to my hard work, I have been appreciated by the seniors and recognized among my peers. In this way, The earlier image which I used to wear due to not understanding the work and losing some of my customers, was changed or regained the image of a hardworking girl among the seniors including the manager as well. The struggle was having conversations with this customer daily. After 6 pm I do not talk to this customer due to no more calls, just wanting to relax and of course, maintain professionalism. Even in one of the review meetings when I was with my reporting manager, the customer sarcastically conveyed that I do not talk to this customer exactly after 6 pm. But he took it easy as he didn't want to be framed in some other way.


Days went like that and I wanted to take some break from my work due to one of my cousins' marriage and also I needed a break from my work. Again I took 15 day break where I had to make some serious excuses so that the senior manager would grant me my leave. He agreed to allow leave only for 10 days but not 15 days. I already booked tickets for returning as well so I can't even cancel and I do not want to cancel as I was firmed to take a break of around 15 days so that I will come back with a refreshed mind to work again. The work wouldn't be that tiring if some automation or working with peers were different, not like manually resolving all the escalated issues that too arguing to prioritise my work so that no escalations will be there further due to the same reason, as well as doing the regular work.


I came back and till then that senior manager did not approve of my leave. Only approved 10 days and for the remaining 5 days, he made it LOP (Loss on Pay) even if I had many leaves left to use.


The post-situation worsened and I will continue the next weekend.
