The Office - A new experience
My work at the office eventually started adding pressure. Even before shifting to rent, I used to be under lots of work pressure due to being in a senior position. Joined my first company as a Business Development Officer but being in Noida I got to know I couldn't deal with the marketing position as my health started deteriorating. Requested my then-senior manager to let me be in a position where my work would include both operation and marketing roles. He took responsibility and changed my position to Key Account Officer. I got to know how good is he after meeting the other senior manager who joined after his retirement. Started my work as a Key Account Officer and soon realized it was not an easy task. I know I don't like the easy tasks but following up with the internal team about certain tasks to that extreme where I have to scold them to get the work done. Yes, I was in a logistics company where everything was done manually.
As I was the senior more shipments had to be handled and delivered to the right place at the right time One escalation would become a highlight for me and to the other senior managers. And being highlighted among senior managers due to escalations would be a negative point for you. And you can't emerge from those points and will always be remembered for how you work. I always wanted peaceful work so that I could manage my other stuff as well. This I realized after being working 24/7 without any other kinds of stuff just to be knowledgeable after constantly working on one manual thing. I wanted to have experience in other things that would make me grow in my career and personal life as well. I had been introduced to the work without knowing exactly what to do, how exactly I should approach an issue, and How to escalate an issue at the right time. Nothing was trained to me. I got the whole procedure after being trained in my current company or my second company. My colleagues also used to tell me that they were never trained for their work, they gradually learned the procedure. It was scary for me as I wasn't able to know the exact approach and my work used to escalate every time I was handed over to the top customers. The competition was so great that the customers stopped business if there was any escalation unsolved. And the company doesn't always give priority to the customer in case any cost-cutting happens inside.
